The RBF file extension is used to signify Microsoft Windows Installer rollback files. RBF rollback files contain archives of files that are saved as backup in case there are problems with application installations. RBF files are created automatically in the Installer tool during the installation process in case they are needed later. If the installation fails to complete, the original file data can be restored. If the installation is successful and the RBF rollback files are not needed, they are automatically deleted by the Installer.
